Study updates - November 2024
Data queries resolution in REDCap update
Please follow the below step-by-step guide in the link below to resolve REDCap data queries made by the central team
Study questionnaires reminder
For electronic baseline questionnaires:
If the “Electronic” box is ticked on the ENROLMENT CRF, a patient will receive an automated email with a link to the baseline questionnaire. This will be issued after the “Enrolment”, “Randomisation”, and “Patient Information” forms are marked as complete and saved.
For paper baseline questionnaires:
If the “Paper” box is ticked on the ENROLMENT CRF, a patient should be provided with a paper copy of the baseline questionnaire. They should complete and return this questionnaire to the sites, who can then send the completed questionnaire to the central study team.
Please add relevant participant ID number in footer of the paper copy provided to the patient.
Please send completed questionnaires in batches (by the first day of each month) to the central study team.
If the patient takes the questionnaire home to complete, please provide them with a freepost envelope to return it directly to the central study team.
It is a site team responsibility to ensure baseline questionnaires are returned to the central team.
The central study team will send out the post-decision and post-test result questionnaires (21 days, 6 months and 12 months) either via post or electronically (patient emailed a link to complete) dependent on patient preference recorded on the PATIENT INFORMATION CRF.
Translations update
The animations included in decision aid app/website have been translated in 5 languages, to improve accessibility for patients.
We have selected to translate the animations into the top 4 languages (Polish, Romanian, Urdu, and Punjabi) on the UK census, plus Bengali as there is a large population located near the largest recruiting site/s.
Please note that the translations are not available yet. We will notify you when they are live.
Associate PI scheme
The DETECT-2 study is part of the Associate PI Scheme.
Please identify health professionals who would be interested in enrolling. Interested team members need to prospectively register for the Associate PI Scheme through the NIHR website.
Please be aware that each independent site is eligible to have an Associate PI trainee, as long as there is a one PI for each Associate PI trainee. Each site should only have one Associate PI trainee per study, at one time (unless the local PI is happy to mentor more).
